Everyone has stress sometimes

W is a high school teacher. He enjoys the classroom, and his students think he’s great. The problem for W is that he really hates dealing with the administration. He thinks that the heads of the school are micromanaging, and that they treat the staff disrespectfully. He has occasional conflicts with the principal, which leave him feeling angry and insecure about his job. W’s work situation leaves him very stressed on a daily basis. He finds himself constantly worrying about the next conflict, and this stress gets in the way of his focus and fulfillment in the classroom. He then brings his anxiety home, which interferes with his happiness there as well.

T is a professional dancer. She is worried about the next audition, worried about getting too old to dance, worried that her boyfriend may be interested in someone else, worried that her car may break down, worried that her mother seems unhappy, worried that it may rain tomorrow and ruin her picnic plans, and worried about many other things all the time. As all of these worries spin through T’s thoughts, they make it very difficult for her to sleep or to relax at all. Then, she worries that she won’t get enough sleep and won't be able to dance tomorrow. The cycle goes on and on ….
